Meet Dr. Richard H. Miyamoto, DDS
Dr. Richard Miyamoto was born in Yokohama, Japan and raised in Waipahu, Hawaii. He attended Waipahu High School and The University of Hawaii at Manoa where he received his Bachelor's degree. He attended Northwestern University Dental School in Chicago, Illinois and received a DDS degree in 1985. Post-doctorate training includes a General Practice Residency at The Queen's Medical Center in Honolulu, HI where he developed a passion for prosthetic dentistry. A commitment to being the best in his field, he pursued and received a certificate in the Specialty of Prosthodontics at The University of Texas Health Sciences Center in San Antonio, Texas. A one year residency in maxillofacial prosthodontics at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas provided extensive training in the management and rehabilitation of head and neck cancer, cleft lip and palate patients. He completed his training with a prestigious implant fellowship at The University of California at Los Angeles. He has been an instructor for implant prosthodontics at UCLA and in Hawaii where he has been in private practice for over 20 years.
He is devoted to his God and family which include wife, Gail and his four sons, Daniel, Aaron, Mike, and Matthew. He enjoys all sports and fitness activities.
He is a member of the Hawaii Dental Association, American Dental Association, American College of Prosthodontics, and Academy of Osseointegration. He is a Biomet Platinum member and was voted by his peers as one of Honolulu Magazine's 'Top Dentists.' He provides all facets of prosthetic specialty care which include Esthetic and Implant dentistry, correction of bite problems, and difficult partial and dentures. Backed by exceptional training and 20 years of experience, Dr. Miyamoto also provides comprehensive implant treatment which include surgery and prosthetic rehabilitation, all in one office setting.
